Is God First In Your Life or Not Even There?

God wants us to worship Him, to listen to Him, to obey His commandments, but most of all He want us to love Him. “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” Deuteronomy 6:5

He wants to be first in your life. He wants to guide you, to watch over you, to care for you and to bless you with health and all that is good if you listen to His Words. “And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.” Deuteronomy 28:2

God does not force you to follow Him or obey His commandments because He gives you ‘Free Will’. He prefers you come to Him on your own.  If you choose to follow your own ‘will’ there will be consequences, because God knows better than than you what you need in your life. And when you follow ‘Your Will’ instead of God’s Will, the enemy is lurking all around you trying to take you down and deter goodness in your life. If God is in your life because you accept Him and have asked Him to be your guiding light, He will bestow blessing upon you.

However, if you forget about Him, ignore Him or disregard his commandments, then expect troublesome times in your life because the enemy likes when God is not around you. “Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God  but turn aside out of this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.Deuteronomy 11:26-28

So take a look at your life and what’s happening in it lately. Is there strife in it? Is there a lot of arguing  going on in your life? Are you putting other gods in front of the Supreme God? Is money your god? Is partying, gambling or drugs more important than God? Is there something else distracting your from spending time with God? Does everything seem like it’s out of control? If so, then you are not headed in the right direction and that is a sign for you to turn to God for help.  “Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.” Deuteronomy 8:5 (Chastise means to discipline)

Take some time to get on your knees and pray. “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.James 5:10

Cry out to God and He will listen. Talk to Him, ask Him to forgive your ways for putting him last and everything else first. Be sincere, He knows your heart. Change your ways and He will change your life. “Thou shalt make thy prayer unto Him, and He shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.Job 22:27

If you don’t know God at all and want to accept Him as your Lord and Savior, then pray The Salvation Prayer. You can find it here from another post.

Not everything is going to change overnight for you, but you might be surprised. God is incredible. There is nothing he can’t do. You just have to be willing to accept him. If you are truly sincere and seek God, He will help, but be prepared because the enemy may continue to strike for a while. So stand strong, stand for God & the devil will flee. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

The Salvation Prayer

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ into your life as your personal Lord and Savior and have not been born again, then I ask you to accept Him now by saying this simple prayer below. You must say it OUT LOUD and mean it from the bottom of your heart.

Dear God, I come to You as a sinner and I am truly sorry for my sins. Come into my heart. Forgive me of all my sins. Wash me, cleanse me and set me free. I believe that Jesus is Lord. I believe You raised Him from the dead, and I believe He is coming back again. I ask Jesus to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. From this moment on I receive Jesus into my life and I decide to live for You and no longer for myself, to do Your will and not mine. Take control of my life from this day forward. Fill me with the Holy Spirit to help me obey You and guide me. Thank You Lord Jesus for saving me and cleansing me with Your precious blood. In Jesus name, Amen.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of GodEphesians 2:8

You are now a born again Christian. A follower of the Jesus Christ. May the Lord bless you and guide you through your new journey. Be baptized in the Lord.

Who is God?

He is light“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5

He is peace“Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.” 2 Corinthians 13:11

He is merciful“Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.” Psalm 116:5

He is forgiving“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

He is kind“But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.” Luke 6:35

He is good“And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.” Ezra 3:11

He is faithful“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Deuteronomy 7:9

He is love… “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”  1 John 4:8

He is giving“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” James 4:6

He is also much more than all of the above.
